Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with the platform and which features you use.

• Account and profile details such as your name, email address, username, phone number (if provided), and login credentials.
• Third-party sign-in information that is made available to us when you authenticate through a provider such as Google or Apple.
• Listing, proposal, message, media, and profile content that you choose to submit through the platform, including star ratings and written reviews about other users.
• Payment, credit, and purchase status information related to paid features, excluding full payment card details handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe) or, for in-app purchases on our native mobile apps, the Apple App Store or Google Play.
• Content you submit to AI-assisted features, such as the AI Trade Advisor, automated listing description generation, price estimates, and similar tools, which is processed by a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response.
• Referral and attribution information, such as promo link identifiers and IP address, if you arrive through an affiliate or partner link or participate in our affiliate program.
• Device identifiers, IP address, and sign-in history used to secure accounts, enforce bans, and detect attempts to evade a suspension.
• For our native mobile apps, push notification device tokens and, if you choose to share it, approximate location used for map-based search or listing address entry.
• Technical and usage information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referral data, and how you interact with the site.

How We Use Information

• To create and manage user accounts and authenticate sign-ins.
• To publish listings, match users, and support proposals, messaging, and other marketplace functions.
• To process purchases, credits, promotions, and related service requests.
• To generate AI-assisted content and recommendations, such as advisor guidance on a swap proposal, listing descriptions, and price estimates.
• To display user-submitted ratings and reviews after a swap is completed.
• To track referrals, clicks, and sign-ups for our affiliate program and calculate affiliate payouts.
• To respond to inquiries, send service updates, and provide customer support.
• To review reports submitted about other users, listings, or messages, and to enforce blocking, restriction, and ban decisions.
• To monitor security, prevent abuse, enforce site rules, and comply with legal obligations.
• To improve site performance, product features, and the overall marketplace experience.

How We Share Information

We may share information when it is reasonably necessary to operate the platform or comply with law.

• With other users when you publish listings, send messages, submit a review, or otherwise choose to share information through the marketplace.
• With vendors and service providers that help us host the platform, process payments, store data, authenticate users, or support site operations, including Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, and email delivery), and Google and Apple (sign-in and, on our native apps, in-app purchases and push notifications).
• With OpenAI, our AI provider, when you use an AI-assisted feature such as the AI Trade Advisor, description generator, or price estimator. Avoid including sensitive personal information in prompts or messages you submit to these features.
• With our internal team when you submit a report about another user, listing, or message, or when your own account or content is the subject of a report, so we can review and act on it.
• With legal authorities or other parties when required to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets if the platform or related business is reorganized or transferred.

AI-Assisted Features

GoSwap.org offers optional AI-assisted features, including the AI Trade Advisor (which analyzes a swap proposal and answers your questions about it), automated listing description generation, price estimates, and similar tools. These features send relevant content, such as swap proposal details, listing information, or the messages you type into the feature, to our AI provider (OpenAI) in order to generate a response.

The AI Trade Advisor requires your one-time acknowledgment before use and, after an initial free use, may consume account credits. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, and you should independently verify any information it provides before relying on it.

Avoid submitting sensitive personal information, such as financial account numbers or government-issued identification, into any AI-assisted feature.

Reviews and Ratings

After a swap reaches closing, both participants may leave a star rating and an optional written review about the other party. Reviews are public and displayed, together with your name or username, on the profile of the user being reviewed.

Affiliate Program

If you use a promo or affiliate link, we record click and sign-up activity associated with that link, including an anonymous visitor identifier and IP address, so referrals can be attributed correctly. If you are an approved affiliate, we also track aggregate click and sign-up statistics tied to your affiliate links to calculate payouts.

Reporting and Blocking

You can block another user to stop seeing their listings and messages, or report a user, listing, or message that violates our rules. Reports, including your identity as the reporter, the target of the report, and any details you provide, are shared with our internal team so we can review and take appropriate action, which may include restricting or banning the reported account.

To prevent banned users from evading enforcement, we may retain device identifiers, IP addresses, and related sign-in signals associated with a banned account and use them to identify and act on related accounts.

Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell any of your personal information such as emails, usernames, phone numbers, addresses or anything else.

Cookies and Local Storage

GoSwap.org uses cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, support security, and improve site functionality.

We also use optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and partner promotion cookies (Microsoft Advertising / Bing UET) only when you give your consent. You can withdraw consent or manage your preferences at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer or through Account Settings → Privacy.

Our native iOS and Android apps do not use browser cookies. Instead, they use secure on-device storage for sign-in and preferences, and, where enabled, a device push notification token to deliver app notifications.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and comply with legal obligations.

• You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal, operational, and security requirements.
• You can block other users, and report users, listings, or messages, directly from the platform.
• You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings, and manage push notifications through your device settings.
• If you no longer want to use the platform, you may stop using it and or delete your account by going ito My Account → Settings → Profile → Delete Account.

Children and Sensitive Transactions

GoSwap.org is not intended for children. Do not use the platform if you are not legally able to enter into binding agreements under applicable law.

Asset transactions can involve significant financial, legal, and tax consequences. Users should consult appropriate professional advisors before completing a deal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version on the site and updating the effective date above.
